Services
Alongside recovery kits, Epoch Cipher takes on security work and part-time technology leadership. The same person who makes the kits does the work.
Security work
For individuals, families and small organizations whose accounts, access and recovery need putting in order:
- Sign-in and access. Who can reach what, and how that changes when someone joins, leaves or can no longer act: single sign-on, a shared password manager, and two-step sign-in everywhere it matters.
- Email and domain. Settings that make mail from your domain hard to fake and easy for others to trust.
- Recovery that does not depend on one person. Emergency accounts, recovery paths with more than one holder, and backups that have actually been restored.
- Playbooks for bad days. What to do when an account is taken over, a laptop is lost or someone leaves suddenly: in what order, and who decides.
- A look at what you have. A review of your current setup, with a plain written account of what we found and what to change first.
We work with tools such as 1Password, Okta and Google Workspace.
Fractional CTO
Part-time technology leadership for small organizations and nonprofits that are too small for a full-time technology lead. The work happens in scheduled sessions on a regular cadence and covers:
- deciding what matters first, and helping you make technology decisions;
- a map of your systems: what you use, who owns it and who has access;
- choosing and overseeing vendors and tools;
- a short monthly record of decisions made, changes completed, what was checked and what risks remain.
It is not a help desk. There is no ticket queue, no round-the-clock on-call and no system monitoring, and it is not legal advice or compliance certification.
